The Sultanate’s leading pipe manufacturer, Gulf International Pipe Industry (GIPI) SPC was recently awarded a 35,642MT of OCTG (13-3/8” & 9 5/8”) - Threaded & Coupled casing pipes order from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). This is another successive OCTG contract being awarded to GIPI, and the delivery of this order will commence in early 2025.
GIPI is the only manufacturer of 7" to 24" Diameter high pressure OCTG casing pipes in Oman and the first mill in the MENA region to manufacture high pressure 24” ERW Steel Pipes. The GIPI Plant produces a wide range of ERW casing pipe products conforming to API 5CT latest specifications. Laboratory tests and thread inspection process fully confirms and assures compliance with all related standardized specifications as well as major oil & gas company requirements. Threading is performed using computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines and coupling buck- on process done with automated power tight machine.
The high strength Threaded & Coupled casing joints are used primarily in deep well operations for oil exploration & drilling projects of PDO.
