The Sultanate’s leading pipe manufacturer, Gulf International Pipe Industry (GIPI) LLC was recently awarded a 7,000MT of OCTG (threaded and coupled casing pipes) order from Petroleum Development Oman (PDO). This is the sixth successive OCTG contract being awarded to GIPI; the previous contract of 13,718mt of casing pipes having been delivered during 2013.
GIPI is the only manufacturer of 8" to 24" Diameter high pressure OCTG casing pipes in Oman and will commence delivery of this order in early 2014. GIPI produces a wide range of ERW casing pipes conforming to API 5CT latest specifications. Laboratory tests and thread inspection process fully comply with all related standardized specifications as well as major oil and gas company requirements. Threading is performed using computer numerical controlled (CNC) machines and coupling buck-on process done with automated power tight machine.
These high strength casing pipes are used in deep well operations for oil exploration and drilling projects by PDO.
Gulf International Pipe Industry (GIPI) was established as a Limited Liability Company in Sultanate of Oman in January 2007. GIPI is the first manufacturer of high pressure steel line pipes and casing pipes in Oman and the first mill in MENA region and sub continent of India to manufacture high pressure 24” electric resistance welded (ERW) steel pipes.
